BECOMING A CERTIFIED GOOGLE PARTNER

*This post has been edited for context. It was originally published on promozoo.ie* As part of my role in Promozoo I led the team to accreditation on two industry leading platforms. Firstly, after being a part of the Google Partners programme for a number of months we received the official Google Partners Badge. On top of that we have received certification from IMS Health’s Mobile Intelligence programme.

GOOGLE PARTNERS BADGE

Google run a Partnership programme which aims to work with agencies to help improve their skills and deliver more effective campaigns for their clients. If an agency receives the Google Partnership badge it means they have demonstrated AdWords expertise, met AdWords spend requirements, delivered agency and client revenue growth, and sustained and grown its client base. The certification can be broken into three sections:Exam Certifications: Google have a range of exams, which must be taken annually, to ensure partners are up to date on how to use Adwords and Analytics and get the best out of the various advertising networks.Best Practices: Google evaluate and rate the performance of all Partner Adwords accounts. Achieving the Google set best practices means clients can be assured that their account will have regular activity and perform to Google’s high standards.Spend: Finally Partners need to meet a spending threshold across all accounts. This ensures the agency has the capacity to manage multiple and substantial accounts, as well as keeping them all up to Google’s best practices. I ran internal training to aid with the exams, championed best practices and demonstrated value to clients, increasing their budget to hit the spend guidelines.
